The Health Care Aide will report to the Clinical Services Manager and work under the supervision of the clinical team, delivering essential patient care and accommodation support services in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, mobility, repositioning, and transport.

  • Maintain and restock patient care and storage areas with necessary supplies.

  • Handle, maintain, and distribute departmental monitoring equipment.

  • Transport patient specimens using the pneumatic tube system.

  • Participate in creating and sustaining a safe, clean work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Registered with the Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA).

  • Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate from an accredited institution.

  • Basic understanding of aseptic techniques.

  • Current CPR certification.

  • Experience working with geriatric and rehabilitation patients in a technical healthcare setting.

  • Familiarity with inter-professional team collaboration and ability to adapt care based on clinical recommendations.

  • Excellent communication, comprehension, and organizational skills.

  • Flexibility to meet unit scheduling requirements including weekend and statutory holiday shifts.

  • Basic computer proficiency and experience with Meditech system.

  • Physical ability to lift 25–30 lbs and meet the physical demands of patient care.

Work Schedule:
Currently scheduled for Days/Evenings, 8/12-hour shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to operational needs).
