Role and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Senior Health & Safety Advisor, you will:

  • Partner with production, maintenance, HR, union, and employees to identify and eliminate workplace accident and occupational disease risks.

  • Advise stakeholders to achieve accident reduction targets.

  • Maintain an active presence throughout the facility to ensure safety visibility and compliance.

  • Develop and implement safety awareness and training tools for supervisors, employees, and health & safety committees.

  • Lead the annual action plan and monitor its execution.

  • Coordinate activities of safety subcommittees (maintenance, incident reviews, etc.).

  • Lead the factory’s health and safety committee.

  • Contribute to ongoing continuous improvement projects related to safety and operations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education: University or College Diploma (DEC) in a relevant field such as Health & Safety, Ergonomics, or Kinesiology.

  • Experience: 1–3 years in similar roles, preferably within a unionized environment.

  • Skills: Strong computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Microsoft environment), good knowledge of occupational health and safety laws and regulations.

  • Attributes: Excellent verbal communication, ability to manage priorities, adaptability, autonomy, initiative, and effective problem-solving skills.
