Description:

Canada Life is seeking Actuarial Post-Graduation Interns to join their London office. This hybrid role provides recent graduates with an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the actuarial field while working alongside a professional actuarial team. The program is ideal for individuals committed to obtaining a professional actuarial designation and offers exposure to multiple actuarial areas including Pricing & Product Development, Valuation, Enterprise Risk Management, Reinsurance, Marketing, Risk Research, Corporate Actuarial, and Internal Audit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform entry-level actuarial work under supervision, gaining exposure to various actuarial domains.

  • Support actuarial projects and analyses, including risk assessment, valuation, and product development tasks.

  • Collaborate with team members on problem-solving, data analysis, and research initiatives.

  • Contribute to professional development activities and team-building initiatives, such as seminars, social events, and technical workshops.

  • Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and apply actuarial techniques as required.

Required Strengths and Skills:

  • Completion of a post-secondary degree prior to start date (Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, or Statistics preferred).

  • Demonstrated commitment to the actuarial field through exams, education, or similar.

  • Innovative problem-solving skills with attention to detail and timeliness.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.

  • Strong organizational skills; ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

  • Technical skills: Excel, Word, VBA, MS Access; Moody’s AXIS knowledge is an asset.

  • Knowledge or interest in market risk, investments, and life insurance/reinsurance.
