Description:

Astra Zeneca is seeking a Strategy & Project Director to lead and execute high-impact, cross-functional projects within its Global Corporate Affairs (GCA) division. This leadership position offers an opportunity to help shape the strategic direction and operational effectiveness of the GCA team on a global scale, contributing to initiatives that directly support the company’s goal of delivering 20 new medicines by 2030.

The role combines strategic planning, project governance, and stakeholder engagement in a hybrid working environment at AstraZeneca’s Mississauga office, designed for collaboration and innovation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead critical, high-visibility projects across Global Corporate Affairs in line with AstraZeneca’s 2030 roadmap

  • Adapt work plans to evolving business needs, ensuring effective and timely delivery

  • Manage stakeholder relationships across regions, capturing business requirements and impacts

  • Apply strong project management and financial oversight to ensure data accuracy and alignment with budgets

  • Contribute to strategic planning and delivery of GCA-wide initiatives

  • Lead preparation and data synthesis for monthly CEO updates and quarterly performance scorecards


Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required; additional certifications or advanced degrees are assets

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project or program management

  • Proven success in leading strategic, cross-functional, and global initiatives

  • Experience working in or with top-tier consulting firms (e.g., McKinsey, BCG, Deloitte) or complex multinational corporations

  • Strong financial and analytical skills; experience managing large budgets

  • Strong ability to communicate insights to senior leadership with executive presence

  • Background in healthcare or Corporate Affairs considered an advantage

  • Familiarity with structured problem-solving and hypothesis-driven methodologies
