Description:
SOCAN is a not-for-profit copyright collective committed to ensuring music creators and publishers are rightfully compensated. Representing over 180,000 songwriters, composers, and music publishers, SOCAN supports creators through licensing, global royalty collection, and advocacy efforts. This role is part of the Product Management Team and focuses on transforming business requirements into actionable IT solutions across various operational departments, including Finance, Membership, Licensing, and Royalty Services.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with IT and business teams to align IT deliverables with business strategy
Develop and maintain documentation such as functional specifications, configuration guides, and application roadmaps
Serve as a liaison to troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve application issues
Provide expert consulting on business processes and system functionalities
Analyze and recommend solutions to improve business processes
Assist in testing, implementation, and post-deployment support of applications
Support QA efforts by identifying scenarios, validating tests, and managing defect resolutions
Lead application configuration and integration tasks
Participate in continuous improvement efforts and cross-functional team projects
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
3–5 years of experience in a senior functional analyst role
Expertise in Microsoft Azure and DataBricks technologies
Strong understanding of financial applications and master data management
Knowledge of data integration, security protocols, and vulnerability management
ERP application configuration experience is an asset
Proficiency with documentation tools, SQL (MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL), and Microsoft tech stack (.Net, C#, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, APIs, Angular JS, Node JS, SharePoint, PowerBI)
Strong leadership, mentoring, and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
Familiarity with software development lifecycles, both traditional and agile
Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
