Food Service Worker

Description:

Island Health is seeking dedicated Food Service Workers to join their team across facilities on Vancouver Island, BC. The role involves performing a variety of food service duties to support patient care and facility operations. This is an opportunity to work with a top healthcare employer in a role that is essential to the daily functioning and quality of care within Island Health facilities.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Portioning and serving food to patients and staff.

• Preparing and/or washing food items such as fruits, vegetables, tea, coffee, and toast.

• Cleaning and sanitizing work areas according to established procedures and standards.

• Adhering to health and safety standards while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

• Performing other related tasks to ensure smooth daily operations of food services.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Grade 10 education or equivalent.

• Certificate in Food Safe Level 1.

• At least 1 year of recent related experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to interact positively and professionally with others.

• Physical capability to carry out required duties.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to operate related equipment.
