Fire Testing Technician

Description:

Element Materials Technology is seeking a motivated Fire Testing Technician to conduct fire performance testing on materials, analyze results, and prepare reports according to well-defined standards or standard operating procedures. The role involves hands-on work with samples, equipment, and client interactions, ensuring all activities are performed safely and accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct fire performance tests on materials following recognized flammability standards.

• Prepare test samples, perform data collection and analysis, and produce reports.

• Handle test material unpacking, inspection, labeling, and pre-conditioning if required.

• Participate in client correspondence and project coordination.

• Purchase, maintain, and calibrate testing equipment.

• Ensure all work adheres to Element Health & Safety procedures and industry safety protocols.

Qualifications:

• Completion of a 2-year college program in engineering or technology or 1-year experience in an engineering environment.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to multitask and handle physical requirements (lifting <50 lbs often, >50 lbs occasionally).

• Experience with construction power and hand tools.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
