Financial Reporting& Accounting Manager

 

Description:

Global Finance is responsible for managing all financial budgeting and reporting for KPMG International and its subsidiaries. This includes the following:

  • Levy and collection – issue levy and recharge to member firms, collections and reporting
  • Payable and disbursements – invoice processing, approval and payments for over 50+ significant functions
  • Management and financial reporting – interim and annual audited financial statements; actual versus budget monitoring and reporting; loans and investments summary; capitalization and maintenance of capital asset register
  • Direct and indirect taxes – to ensure complex compliance with several foreign reporting tax jurisdictions; prepare corporate tax filings for filings in various countries
  • Treasury functions – weekly and monthly cash flow projections; manage the initiation and maturity of currency hedges

What you will do:

1. Preparation of subsidiary financial statements including assistance with year-end audit: liaise with the global tax and legal department to ensure reporting compliance of the various subsidiary companies within the group and including assistance with the group consolidated financial statements. Manage the various year end closing activities with respect to the consolidated management financial statements ensuring that all activities are completed within a tight timeframe; strong working knowledge of IFRS 9, 15 and 16 is required.

2. Assist with capitalization of intangibles, maintenance of Leases and Loans: review various projects to identify capitalization amounts in accordance with International Reporting Standards; discuss with sponsoring partner and project lead to get background information; analyze the operating impact of actual capitalization against budgeted capitalization; summarize and accumulate general ledger transactions to support the amounts capitalized; conduct quarterly update calls with various functions to monitor the process of projects and impact on projected capitalization amounts. Assessment, calculations (including ECL calculations) and supporting documentation related to new leases and loans which are entered into and provided respectively.

3. Pay run review: periodic involvement to ensure that the proposed disbursements are in accordance with the pre-established approval matrix; supplier banking details match the invoices and that invoices from various KPMG member firms are in accordance with the internal recharge policies.

4. Review loan and financing agreements : Assess agreements to determine accounting based on IFRS 9 and identify clauses which require rework or further discussion.

5. Liaise with offshore resources in the following areas: managing cost center structure and uploading of approval matrix; actual versus budget reporting templates; prepayments; direct tax returns; general ledger; balance sheet and P&L reconciliation.

6. Other ad hoc projects: other financial and management reporting tasks as will be assigned from time to time for example review of levy computation to be charged to member firms; summarizing and review of taxation charges; review of financing and exchange gain/loss computations.

7. Assistance with year-end audit of other subsidiaries: manage the various year end closing activities with respect to the consolidated management financial statements ensuring that all activities are completed within a tight timeframe; strong working knowledge of IFRS 9, 15 and 16.

8. Month end activities: Maintain and update month end checklist for closing accounts, Journal posting-invo accruals and recharge accruals, assist in closing periods in SAP. Review of cash and bank balances, review of term deposit schedules including hedge agreements.

9. Operational finance activities: Cost center creation, maintenance of chart of accounts and alternate cost center structure, perform timely review of the user access report on a monthly basis, review super user access report on a monthly basis, complete timely updates of the approval matrix.

10. Quarter end activities:Oversee the closing of quarter end ensuring timely accruals. Review and reconcile GL accounts to subsidiary ledger. Analyze GL accounts for composition and reporting. Manage and track prepayment balances. Oversee accrual process and work closely with finance business partners to ensure accruals are complete and accurate at quarter-end. Ensure finance business partner compliance with closing timeline.
