The Opportunity

McClelland Premium Imports (MPI) was founded in 2003 with the mission of bringing Europe’s finest, most authentic beers to Canada. We are a privately owned growing national importer of some of Europe’s finest beers. We are looking to hire a results-oriented individual who is looking to embark on a journey to manage Financial Planning and Analysis at McClelland Premium Imports and within our Logistics Group.

 

Description of Role:

The Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst will support the Management team to provide a business and financial updates to the executive management team. The incumbent will perform analysis to support strategic decisions as well as identifying cost improvement opportunities. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager, the incumbent will be required to perform:

· Budgeting & Forecasting: Leading annual budget cycles and creating regular forecasts (monthly/quarterly) for revenue, expenses, cash flow, and headcount.

· Variance Analysis: Comparing actual results to budgets/forecasts to explain performance gaps and identify risks or opportunities.

· Financial Modeling: Building models (e.g., DCF, ROI) to evaluate investments, new projects, or business scenarios.

· Reporting: Preparing financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management.

· Strategic Support: Providing financial insights to guide decisions on resource allocation, cost optimization, and long-term planning.

 

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

· MBA or MA of Science is preferred, bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline is required.

· Minimum 5 years’ progressive finance experience preferably in CPG/Manufacturing.

· Analytical & Modeling Skills: Advanced Excel skills, financial statement analysis, cost-benefit analysis. Proficiency with accounting software (e.g. SAP) is an asset

· Technical Skills: Proficiency with Business Intelligence (BI) tools like Power BI.

· Communication Skills: Ability to present complex financial data clearly to non-finance leaders.

· Collaboration Skills: Working across departments (Finance, HR, Operations).
