The Manager, Model Internal Audit – Financial Engineering & Modeling will provide quantitative auditing and advisory services to financial services clients. The role involves assessing Model Risk Management Frameworks (MRMF), evaluating internal controls, policies, and procedures, and managing internal audit teams.
The position ensures compliance, evaluates model effectiveness, and provides professional guidance to senior management on audit findings and risk mitigation strategies.
Conduct comprehensive quantitative audits of client model risk frameworks.
Assess effectiveness of internal controls, governance processes, and risk management practices.
Evaluate adherence to policy requirements.
Lead and manage internal audit teams to execute audit work.
Draft audit reports and review detailed work papers.
Identify root causes of weaknesses, audit scope, objectives, and recommendations.
Communicate audit findings and conclusions to senior business management.
Provide guidance on quantitative and model risk management principles.
Minimum 5+ years’ experience in model risk management, internal audit, or validation roles.
Strong understanding of quantitative auditing, model risk frameworks, and data analysis.
Experience leading and managing audit teams.
Graduate degree in a quantitative discipline (PhD or Master’s in financial engineering, statistics, financial mathematics, econometrics, or related field).
Solid knowledge of capital markets, financial instruments, and regulatory requirements (OSFI CAR, E-23 Guidelines, SR11-7, SR15-19).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong project management experience.
Professional designations such as FRM, CFA, CIA, CISA.
Ability to identify and assess risks, finalize audit issues, and communicate findings effectively.
Experience working in the financial services industry with regulatory oversight.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership capabilities.

Base Salary: $101,000 – $169,000 CAD
