Financial Analyst

Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is seeking a Financial Analyst, Reporting to join their Finance team in Saskatoon. This is a hybrid position offering the opportunity to work within a collaborative, high-impact environment supporting corporate financial consolidation and reporting activities. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate financial disclosures and supporting strategic financial decision-making.

This opportunity is ideal for accounting professionals with experience in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), financial consolidation, and reporting, who are detail-oriented and eager to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the consolidation of financial statements and preparation of note disclosures and MD&A (Management Discussion & Analysis)

• Conduct detailed financial analysis and support budget preparation activities

• Recommend updates to accounting policies and ensure organization-wide consistency

• Research best practices and assess their impact on financial operations

• Provide support and communication regarding new financial reporting standards

• Drive process improvements and support training initiatives within the finance function

Team and Reporting Structure:

• Report directly to the Manager, External Reporting

• Collaborate with the Senior Financial Reporting Specialist, Corporate Accounting, Fixed Asset teams, and other internal finance stakeholders

Candidate Profile:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce/Business with a major in Accounting

• Certification: Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is mandatory

• Experience: Minimum 3+ years of financial reporting experience under IFRS; systems and consolidation experience preferred

• Skills: Strong analytical and communication skills; attention to detail; ability to assess impacts of financial policy changes
