Description:

CIBC is building a relationship-oriented bank focused on the modern client experience. As a Financial Advisor, you will be an integral member of the Personal and Business Banking Team, dedicated to growing a client portfolio by delivering personalized financial advice, cultivating strong client relationships, and supporting long-term financial goals.

In this role, you’ll serve as the primary contact for clients, helping them with day-to-day banking, investments, lending solutions, retirement planning, estate planning, and business financial needs. You will also be responsible for expanding client networks, engaging in community activities, and leveraging CIBC’s wide range of products and services to deliver tailored, needs-based solutions.

This is an on-site position that requires flexibility to work during banking centre hours, including some evenings and weekends. You may also be expected to work at multiple centres within a reasonable travel distance to support client service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage a portfolio of clients, providing ongoing relationship management and financial planning support.

  • Engage with clients to understand their financial goals and deliver tailored solutions across banking, investments, lending, and estate planning.

  • Develop business opportunities by networking, participating in community events, and creating strong client connections.

  • Deeply understand the local market to create business development strategies that attract and retain clients.

  • Act as a trusted advisor, ensuring that each client interaction is meaningful and value-driven.

Who You Are (Qualifications):

  • 1 – 3 years of proven experience in financial advising, portfolio management, or banking relationship roles.

  • Strong client engagement and business development skills with a goal-oriented mindset.

  • Licensing & Certifications:

    • CIRO-MFD accreditation with CSC, CIFC, or IFC (and meet licensing requirements).

    • Quebec accreditation: AMF licensing with CIFC or CSC, plus Registered Retirement Consultant (RRC). Additional courses in taxation and legal/ethical aspects of financial planning are considered assets.

  • Passion for client service, ability to build lasting relationships, and commitment to CIBC’s values of trust, teamwork, and accountability.

  • Eligible to work in Canada with valid work or study permit (if applicable).
