Finance Transformation Director

Description:

GFL Environmental, the only major diversified environmental services company in North America, is expanding its team and seeking a Director – Finance Transformation to join the North American team. This role focuses on supporting the development of the enterprise transformation strategy with a primary emphasis on implementing and delivering finance-related initiatives that align with the company's business objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive finance transformation strategy in alignment with the organization’s goals.

• Lead the evaluation and implementation of finance technologies, such as ERP systems and automation tools, to improve financial reporting and analysis.

• Provide governance over the existing ERP platform, supporting ongoing usage and enhancement initiatives.

• Drive organizational change management to ensure adoption of new processes and technologies within the finance team and the wider organization.

• Collaborate with senior leadership, department heads, and external partners to align finance transformation initiatives with business objectives.

• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of transformation initiatives and report on progress to executive management.

• Mentor and develop finance staff to build a high-performing team capable of executing the transformation strategy.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field; MBA or relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA) preferred.

• 6+ years of experience in finance, with a focus on transformation, process improvement, or project management.

• Proven track record of leading successful finance transformation initiatives in a corporate environment.

• Strong understanding of finance technologies and ERP systems.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

• Experience in change management methodologies is a plus.
