Description:
CEIU is seeking a bilingual Finance Processing Clerk for a 6-month term position working 15 to 20 hours per week at their National Office in Ottawa. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Finance and Administration and assist with processing expense claims for union members and staff.
Primary responsibilities include reviewing expense claims to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with CEIU policies. This involves responding to inquiries from members and staff, verifying that claims have not been previously paid, performing data entry, scanning, filing, and providing general administrative support to the Finance Department.
Candidates must have strong numeracy skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with financial software such as Sage, Excel, and Microsoft Office 360. A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory, and an associate degree in accounting, finance, or business administration is preferred.
The role requires handling multiple tasks efficiently, maintaining confidentiality, and good communication skills to liaise with internal teams and members. The candidate should be able to work from the Ottawa office 1 to 3 days per week and have 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or administrative support. Experience with unionized environments and office equipment operation is an asset.
