Finance Business Analyst Lead

EPAM Systems is seeking a Finance Business Analyst Lead to join its Toronto office and support business analysis across all finance-related initiatives. This leadership position plays a critical role in enabling business solutions that drive efficiency, align with strategic goals, and maintain high-quality service across EPAM’s finance portfolio.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in finance operations, accounting, and core financial systems, with a strong focus on SAP environments within the insurance industry. As a Lead Business Analyst, you will oversee requirement gathering, process design, and system implementation to ensure end-to-end delivery meets business expectations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and direct the definition of business requirements for finance-related initiatives.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to capture and translate business needs into clear technical and functional documentation (use cases, workflows, traceability matrices, mockups, etc.).

• Ensure IT implementations align with business objectives and system capabilities.

• Drive automation initiatives to eliminate manual tasks and enhance data quality and process efficiency.

• Mentor and manage a team of business analysts, fostering performance and professional growth.

• Align investment strategies with IT leadership and stakeholders for maximum value delivery.

• Conduct cost-benefit analyses and develop business case justifications for financial solutions.

• Enforce standards, processes, and quality control measures across IT and BA functions.

• Identify areas of improvement within IT processes and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong background in core financial operations such as financial closing, accruals, cash settlements, and other transactional processes.

• Solid understanding of accounting practices and finance operations.

• Proven success in large-scale project delivery and business transformation.

• In-depth experience with SAP FS-CD and FS-GL on HANA.

• Insurance industry experience (minimum 5 years).

• Leadership experience in managing and mentoring business analysts and IT contractors.

• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma practices is a plus.

• Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, high-demand environments.

Compensation:

• Annual Salary Range: CA$110000 – CA$140000

• Monthly Equivalent: CA$9166 – CA$11666 (approximate)

• Final compensation will be based on experience, credentials, and market conditions.
