Description:

The Community Operations and Programs Branch provides a range of local services in various Yukon communities, including water and wastewater treatment, solid waste, recycling, and mosquito control. The branch procures a high volume of contracts for assistance in the delivery of local services which creates the need for robust processes for financial administration and budget tracking. Among other duties, this position works closely with branch staff and the Director to track O&M and capital budgets and to produce budget variance reports.

Essential Qualifications

  • Coursework in Business Administration or related discipline.
  • Experience providing in-depth financial analysis and advice on a variety of accounting and administrative operations, procedures and systems.
  • Experience in financial planning, forecasting, and reporting.

  • Excellent analytical skills, critical thinking and sound judgment.
  • Ability to manage a broad range of financial functions such as variance reporting, auditing, budgeting, business planning, and in-depth financial analysis and interpretation of relevant legislation and policies.
  • Excellent two-way communication skills and self-awareness. Ability to influence decision making and best practices though building and maintaining collaborative relationships.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple critical and time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Planning and detail oriented with the ability to think strategically.
