Field Technician

Description:

Union Gospel Mission (UGM) is seeking a compassionate and adaptable Field Technician to support individuals living in the Downtown Eastside (DTES) community. You will engage directly with clients facing crisis situations while working within a Christian organization that provides a continuum of care rooted in demonstrating the love of Christ. This role requires a client-centered approach, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to work effectively in diverse, challenging environments.

This is a permanent, part-time position (22.5 hours per week), scheduled Friday – Sunday. Hours may vary depending on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct outreach and relational support to individuals in the DTES.

• Engage with clients experiencing crisis situations and connect them with appropriate services.

• Work collaboratively with UGM staff for support and coordinated care.

• Demonstrate compassion, humility, and professionalism in all interactions.

Qualifications:

Applicants must:

• Be legally entitled to work in Canada.

• Demonstrate alignment with UGM’s Core Values.

• Agree with the organization’s Statement of Faith.

• Provide a current criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening upon hire.

• Possess a valid, unrestricted driver’s licence and submit a current driver’s abstract.
