Description:

Cooper Equipment Rentals is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Field Service Technician to join their dynamic team in the Lower Mainland BC region. This role starts as an in-shop position based in Richmond, BC, and transitions into a primarily field-based role after the initial three months. As a technician, you’ll be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of construction equipment, ensuring top operational condition and customer satisfaction.

Technicians will perform diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and repairs on earth-moving machines, compaction equipment, and aerial equipment like scissor lifts, boom lifts, and telehandlers. The role demands flexibility, technical competence, and a commitment to high standards of customer service and safety compliance. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs both in the shop and at customer sites

  • Backfill field and shop technician positions within the region as needed

  • Use diagnostic tools and computer applications for equipment troubleshooting

  • Accurately document inspections, maintenance work, and repairs

  • Maintain a high level of customer service during all jobsite interactions

  • Participate in on-call rotation and be available for overtime as needed

  • Assist in the repair of hard-down equipment and support priority clients and contracts

  • Follow all company Health and Safety policies rigorously

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with construction equipment

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record (maximum 3 demerit points)

  • 421A or 310T license preferred; equivalent experience will be considered

  • Working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, pumps, and motors

  • Competency using computer-based diagnostic tools and maintenance software

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Effective problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada and currently residing in Canada
