Description:
Alta Equipment Group, the largest equipment dealer in North America, is seeking a Forklift Field Service Technician for their London, Ontario branch. This full-time, first-shift role provides technicians with company vehicles, fuel cards, tools, and uniforms to perform high-quality service at customer sites.
The position involves preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of forklifts and material handling equipment, while providing exceptional customer service. Technicians work independently and manage their own workloads, ensuring that all repairs are completed professionally, efficiently, and safely.

Perform preventative maintenance on customer forklifts and other material handling equipment.
Diagnose and repair all types of customer equipment efficiently and professionally.
Provide exceptional customer service and communicate effectively with clients.
Manage field workloads independently and complete required paperwork accurately.
Maintain company vehicle and on-board parts inventory.
Incorporate Alta’s Guiding Principles into daily activities.
Participate in in-house paid technical training programs to develop additional skills.
Perform other duties as assigned and ensure regular, reliable attendance.
Minimum 2 years of forklift repair experience.
Previous field service experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of electric and liquid propane forklifts.
Excellent mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
Own tools required.
Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
Proficiency with Hyster TKC training software and Yale/Hyster contact management system.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating manuals, and procedure manuals.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Basic mathematical skills and intermediate reasoning ability to solve practical problems.
Regularly stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk, and hear.
Occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Frequently lift 11–25 pounds; occasionally lift 26–100+ pounds.
Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, outdoor weather conditions, vibration, and potential electrical hazards.
Manual dexterity required for tools and equipment handling.
