Family Physician

Description:

Nine Circles Community Health Centre, operating under Shared Health–Soins Communs, is seeking a dedicated Family Physician to join their team in a part-time permanent role focused on serving people living with HIV and at-risk populations. The Family Physician will work closely within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver comprehensive, culturally aware, and patient-centered care. The role emphasizes harm reduction, community development, and health equity in both clinical and community settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive primary care services, integrating community-based and culturally sensitive approaches.

• Deliver HIV care and treatment, as well as management of Hepatitis C, mental health, and addictions (as applicable).

• Promote health education, wellness, and harm reduction strategies in alignment with client goals.

• Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of individualized care plans.

• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team including social workers, counselors, nurses, and outreach staff.

Work Schedule:

• Part-time: 40 hours per two-week period (includes holiday pay)

• Hours: Monday to Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Qualifications:

• Completion of a Family Practice Residency

• Full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba

• Must be a current registered member in good standing

• Trained in Opiate Agonist Therapy or willingness to obtain upon hire

Preferred Experience & Skills:

• At least 2 years’ experience in primary/community/ambulatory care

• Strong knowledge of harm reduction, health promotion, and client-centered care

• Familiarity with Indigenous culture and the impacts of colonization on health

• Experience in HIV, Hepatitis C, mental health, and addiction care

• Proficiency in EMR systems (e.g., Accuro)

• Multilingual skills considered an asset

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and computer skills
