Facility Operations Manager

As Facility Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing all operational aspects of the grain facility, including receiving, grading, cleaning, drying, storing, blending, processing, and shipping of grain. You will ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective utilization of labor and equipment while leading health and safety initiatives and maintaining compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily operations, including receiving, grading, cleaning, drying, processing, blending, storing, and shipping of grain.

• Work closely with Merchandising and Logistics to meet customer specifications and maximize profitability.

• Oversee shipping operations to prevent delays and reduce demurrage costs.

• Monitor facility financial performance (P&L) and take corrective measures when needed.

• Ensure facility cleanliness and oversee preventive maintenance programs.

• Lead health, safety, and compliance initiatives, fostering a proactive safety culture.

• Ensure compliance with ISO standards, environmental policies, and industry regulations.

• Manage HR functions, including recruitment, employee development, and performance management.

• Prepare and manage budgets, monitor expenditures, and recommend capital investments.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with local regulators, industry contacts, and government officials.

Candidate Profile:

• Strong knowledge of grain grading, handling, and processing.

• Proven leadership and supervisory experience with the ability to motivate and guide teams.

• In-depth understanding of grain industry regulations and best practices.

• Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in agri-business or a related customer service role, with at least 3 years in management.

• Post-secondary education in Agriculture or Business Administration preferred.

• Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
