Description:
The Agri-Food Export Group is the leading Canadian association of food product exporters. The Export Advisor will work under the supervision of the Director of Market Development and Business Intelligence. Responsibilities include managing various marketing and export activities, organizing member company participation in trade shows and events both in Canada and internationally, and proposing innovative initiatives to stimulate export development.
The role involves designing and adapting specialized training for exporters and playing a key role in member recruitment and retention, while advising members on their export processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management: Plan, coordinate, and oversee projects and activities such as trade show pavilions, trade missions, and buyer meetings; negotiate agreements with suppliers and partners; supervise overall project management; coordinate with various departments; support companies in their international efforts; ensure participant satisfaction; conduct on-site implementation and follow-up.
Budget Management: Prepare budgets and monitor financial resources and cost control for projects and activities.
Member Advisory: Provide members with advice on international markets and development.
Networking: Build and maintain strategic relationships with key international market players, partners, potential members, and relevant organizations.
Service Promotion: Promote Export Group services to members and non-members.
Market Intelligence: Analyze international market reports and develop tools to disseminate information to association members.
Export Statistics: Collect and analyze export-related statistical data.
Support: Assist management with project management, strategic planning, and specific assignments as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent
Experience or diploma in project management (asset)
Experience or diploma in international trade (asset)
Bilingual in French and English; a third language is an asset
Knowledge of the agri-food sector (asset)
Proficiency with MS Office suite
Strong communication and group facilitation skills
Autonomy, resourcefulness, initiative, and responsibility
Customer satisfaction oriented
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Rigorous and adaptable
Team spirit and networking ability
Willingness to travel frequently abroad and occasionally within Quebec
Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle for travel
