The Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a highly skilled, innovative leader to become the next Executive Director of the Royal Saskatchewan Museum (RSM). We are seeking an individual with a passion to lead, a commitment to client services, and a desire to grow the RSM as one of Canada’s premiere museums. This position will:
- Provide leadership, set overall direction, establish challenging targets, and motivate staff to achieve high level performance;
- Works collaboratively within the ministry; and
- Lead a team of dedicated professionals in Regina and at the T. Rex Discovery Centre, developing and implementing strategic program plans, building effective work teams, and managing the financial and human resources aspects.

- Experience working with not-for-profit groups;

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain a positive and customer focused culture;
- Knowledge of government structures, processes, and responsibilities;
- Knowledge of curatorial programs, planning, and development of exhibits, public programming and marketing initiatives; and
- Knowledge of museum and heritage communities at the provincial, national, and international levels would be considered an asset.
Typically, the knowledge and competencies for this position would have been acquired through:
- The completion of a relevant degree in business administration or a museum discipline;
- Several years of related leadership experience; and
- Experience in business development, strategy development and/or change management would be considered an asset.
