Description:

Homebuilders Association Vancouver (HAVAN) is a not-for-profit representing over 1,100 member companies that build more than 65% of homes in Metro Vancouver. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Events Manager to lead and execute a growing portfolio of B2B and B2C events that connect, educate, and advocate for the homebuilding industry in BC.

This mid-level role is perfect for a detail-oriented event professional hungry for leadership opportunities, who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys creating memorable event experiences from start to finish.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead event program management: strategy, planning, sponsorship, and execution for 20+ annual programs.

  • Serve as lead point of contact for assigned events, ensuring all deliverables and deadlines are met.

  • Maintain HAVAN’s service quality standards and values consistently.

  • Manage event budgets, tracking expenses and invoices meticulously.

  • Oversee all event logistics including registration, speaker management, tech support, décor, and communications.

  • Source and manage subcontractors (hotels, caterers, technicians, etc.) and build vendor relationships.

  • Manage CRM-based registration system (GrowthZone), event website updates, contracts, and vendor agreements.

  • Provide seamless event-day execution, including rehearsals, audio/visual coordination, and virtual event elements.

  • Coordinate with sponsors, speakers, volunteers, government contacts, and members to deliver high-impact experiences.


Candidate Profile:

  • Passionate about events with at least 3 years of end-to-end event management experience.

  • Detail-obsessed with strong strategic thinking and ability to align event logistics with organizational goals.

  • Confident leader and collaborator, able to manage teams, contractors, and cross-functional partners effectively and calmly.

  • Proactive problem-solver who anticipates challenges and finds solutions early.

  • Community-driven and adept at connecting people to purpose, motivating volunteers, sponsors, and attendees.


Other Requirements:

  • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends as required for events.

  • Access to a reliable vehicle to travel across Metro Vancouver for event duties.
