Description:

Burnaby Football Club (BFC), one of British Columbia’s premier and most expansive soccer organizations, is currently seeking a proactive and highly organized Events Coordinator to support and elevate the execution of its dynamic lineup of events. With a growing community of over 3,000 players across 150 youth and adult teams, BFC is deeply rooted in fostering engagement, sportsmanship, and excellence in every facet of its programming.

The Events Coordinator will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless coordination of all club-hosted events and tournaments, contributing to a memorable experience for players, families, and the wider community.


Key Responsibilities:

Tournaments and Event Logistics:

  • Plan and coordinate all logistics for BFC tournaments, including:

    • Registrations, scheduling, fees, field setup, signage, operations, food, entertainment, and merchandise.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all tournament teams.

  • Partner with the Technical Lead on tournament rules and regulations.

  • Proactively recruit and invite teams from across the Lower Mainland, other parts of BC, and beyond.

  • Maintain and update a tournament invitation database.

  • Collaborate with BC Soccer for tournament sanctioning and approvals.

Club Events and Special Functions:

  • Lead planning and coordination for key BFC events, such as:

    • Kickoff Jamboree

    • Photo Day

    • College/Pro Combines

    • Coach Appreciation Night

  • Book, manage, and coordinate third-party vendors (e.g., food trucks, merchandise, entertainment).

  • Recruit, train, and oversee volunteers and event staff.

Marketing & Promotion:

  • Work closely with the marketing team to promote events and enhance community participation.

  • Develop new strategies to grow visibility and increase event attendance.

Budgeting & Administration:

  • Monitor event budgets, track spending, and process vendor invoices.

  • Evaluate return on investment (ROI) for events and propose improvements.


Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in event coordination, preferably in a youth sports or nonprofit environment.

  • Highly organized with a strong ability to multitask and meet deadlines under pressure.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.

  • Strong vendor negotiation and team coordination capabilities.

  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and outdoor events.

  • A strong passion for soccer and active community engagement.
