As Canada’s premier forum for meaningful conversations, the Empire Club of Canada has been shaping influential dialogues for over 121 years. The Club hosts 40 thought leadership events annually, bringing together prominent figures from across the globe, and is now looking for a dynamic Events Coordinator to join its team. This is an exciting opportunity for an event professional with a passion for current affairs and intellectual curiosity to play a key role in shaping both digital and in-person experiences.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of over 30 high-profile events each season.

  • Provide updates on responsibilities, timelines, and deliverables to the Senior Manager of Events.

  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, speakers, and facilitators to ensure timely delivery of event-related materials and services.

  • Collect post-event attendee feedback and prepare performance reports for social media.

  • Monitor event registration data and attendance figures.

  • Address and resolve any event-related issues to ensure smooth event delivery.

  • Manage digital subscriptions and process contractual agreements.

  • Set up and maintain event registration platforms (Swoogo, WordPress, PigeonHole, SurveyMonkey, etc.).

  • Oversee virtual event components, including livestreams and post-event video reviews.

  • Recruit, train, and facilitate volunteer orientations.

  • Maintain organized event files, databases, and documentation.

  • Perform other ad hoc duties as required by the Events team and the organization.


Logistics & Requirements:

  • Hybrid (remote and office) work environment.

  • Must be based in the Greater Toronto Area.

  • Indirect reporting to the Executive Director of Operations.


Education:

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Event Coordination or a related field.


Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years' experience in event planning and marketing.

  • Experience in the public sector is an asset.

  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Proficiency with online/virtual event platforms.

  • Experience with Creative Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) is recommended.

  • Intermediate experience with Canva and InDesign.


Compensation:

  • $45,000 - $50,000 annually.

  • Two weeks of vacation per annum.
