Role Overview:

The Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of a broad fleet of construction equipment including earth-moving machinery, compaction tools, aerial equipment (such as telehandlers, boom lifts, scissor lifts), and forklifts. The role demands a motivated, customer-oriented team player who ensures equipment reliability, safety, and optimal performance through preventative maintenance and effective troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect, service, and maintain diverse construction equipment including earth-moving, compaction, and aerial machinery.

• Perform preventative maintenance routines and diagnose mechanical malfunctions.

• Execute necessary repairs and conduct tests on repaired equipment to confirm proper operation.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of inspections, maintenance, and repair work orders.

• Adhere strictly to company health and safety policies to ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on mechanical experience.

• Proven experience diagnosing and repairing construction equipment malfunctions.

• Strong working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic pumps, and motors.

• Experience working specifically on earth-moving, compaction, and aerial equipment.

• Proficiency with computer applications and diagnostic tools related to equipment maintenance.

• Must possess a complete set of personal tools required for the role.

• Valid Class G driver’s license with a clean or satisfactory driving abstract.

• Willingness to work overtime and participate in on-call rotations as needed.

• Flexibility and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong problem-solving skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with colleagues and customers.

• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
