Environmental Advisor

 

Description:

CRECA is looking for an Environmental Advisor to join its growing team, dedicated to making a difference in the Chaudière-Appalaches region. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing natural environment conservation projects, coordinating activities, and engaging with local stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conservation Project Development:

    • Design, develop, and implement projects focused on natural environment conservation.

    • Coordinate activities related to the regional approach for controlling invasive species.

    • Participate in awareness campaigns and citizen mobilization efforts.

  2. Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Develop and maintain relationships with partners and decision-makers in the region.

    • Represent the organization at various meetings and forums.

  3. Research & Reporting:

    • Monitor environmental issues in the region related to natural environment conservation.

    • Prepare reports, analyses, summaries, and compilations.

  4. Team Collaboration:

    • Assist other teams with projects related to conservation and climate change adaptation efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Post-secondary degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Biogeosciences, Bioecology, Physical Geography, or Wildlife Management.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

  • Skills:

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    • Strong knowledge of environmental issues.

    • Knowledge of invasive species is an asset.

    • Project management experience (including budget tracking).

    • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

    • Excellent French (both written and spoken), strong writing skills, and public speaking abilities.

    • Excellent organizational skills.

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and social media tools.

    • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for travel.

    • Good sense of humor.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time permanent position (35 hours/week), with the possibility of part-time work.

  • Salary: Based on experience.

  • Benefits: Social benefits package, including employer contributions to a pension plan (REER), compensation for active and sustainable travel, and materials for remote work.

  • Start Date: Summer 2025.

  • Location: Lévis (Breakeyville) (2 days in the office) and remote work (3 days a week). Travel across the region will be required. The office is accessible via public transport (Société de transport de Lévis, Route 31).
