Description:

We are hiring for an Enterprise Network/Platform Specialist for a full-time, on-site role in Brampton, Ontario. Reporting to the Manager of Enterprise Network Operations, the selected candidate will play a critical role in maintaining operational excellence in the IP and Access network platforms. The ideal applicant is a seasoned networking professional with hands-on experience in service provider environments and a deep understanding of advanced networking protocols and tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the top-tier expert for fault identification, isolation, and resolution for IP & Access network technologies.

  • Conduct performance and fault analysis involving extended investigations and recommend strategic approaches for resolution.

  • Manage configuration and maintenance of network elements and technology platforms.

  • Provide expert support during change control processes, including method of procedure reviews and post-change validations.

  • Design, implement, and maintain automation tools/scripts across Network Operations using both in-house and open-source tools.

  • Maintain accurate and current network design and support documentation.

  • Identify and lead new automation opportunities through data-driven insights.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams on network design issues and optimize network performance.

  • Participate in on-call rotation to support network operations.

  • Comply with Health and Safety legislation and internal corporate policies.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Degree or diploma in Networking or Technology.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Service Provider environment.

  • Advanced expertise in networking (routers, switches, firewalls, subnetting, and network protocols).

  • Deep knowledge of TCP/IP protocols including OSPF, ISIS, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, VPNs, and Multicasting.

  • Hands-on experience with Nokia (ALU) Service Routers 7750SR, 7210-SaS, and relevant software tools (TiMOS/SR OS, 5620 NSP/CPAM).

  • Familiarity with Nokia 7360 XGS-PON, 5520 AMS, or other OLT solutions.

  • Experience in security systems and DDoS mitigation.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and log parsing tools such as Splunk, Grafana, etc.

  • Lean-Six Sigma certification is an asset.

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaborative team skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex network problems methodically and independently.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
