Engineering Manager

Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled Engineering Manager to lead the DevEx team, who can help raise the bar for reliability, security, and operational excellence. Management is key; your role is to create the conditions where platform engineers build reusable, high-impact systems that make every engineer at Slice more productive.

The Role

Own developer and business outcomes

Partner with engineering leadership to identify developer friction and platform opportunities. Measure success by improved deployment velocity, system reliability, platform adoption, and developer productivity—not just features shipped or tools built.

Lead technical direction

Guide architecture and technical strategy across our Internal Developer Platform, deployment workflows, and cloud infrastructure. Help the team build reusable patterns, self-service tooling, and strong guardrails that make the right thing the easy thing.

You Should Be Comfortable Leading Teams Working With
 

• Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, and cloud-native architecture.
• ArgoCD & GitOps principles for safe, scalable application delivery.
• Python for internal tooling, automation, and infrastructure management.
• GitHub Actions & CI/CD pipeline automation.
• Network architecture, DNS, Cloudflare.
• Datadog (dashboards, metrics, logging, tracing, alerting) and Terraform.
• Generative AI tools to develop and deploy applications, including agentic applications/services using LLM APIs
