Description:
Iris Software is seeking an experienced SDET Engineer for a long-term contract with one of Canada’s largest banks. The successful candidate will support automated testing initiatives, improve reporting and data quality, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality financial software systems. This is a hybrid role based in Toronto, requiring 4 days onsite per week.
Develop and maintain automated test frameworks using Java or Python.
Use DevOps tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, and JIRA for CI/CD and workflow management.
Apply AI/ML concepts to enhance testing processes (as applicable).
Implement reporting systems to track test results, historical data, and root-cause investigations.
Ensure high data quality across systems and testing workflows.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and create appropriate test strategies.
Work independently to resolve issues and drive testing initiatives.
Continuously improve testing tools, frameworks, and practices.
Strong proficiency in Java or Python for automated testing.
Experience with DevOps tools: GitHub, Jenkins, JIRA.
Background in Banking or Financial Services is an asset.
Knowledge of AI/automation enhancement techniques.
Solid understanding of test reporting, test strategy, and data-driven testing.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Self-driven and proactive.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy.
Comfortable working in fast-paced enterprise environments.
12+ month contract (with possible extension).
Hybrid schedule: 4 days onsite in Toronto.
Must be eligible to work in Canada.
