Description:
Imperial Oil is seeking a Terminal Maintenance Operator to support bulk fuel terminal operations and maintenance. The role involves ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient terminal equipment operation, compliance with regulatory and company standards, and collaboration with engineering and operational teams. The position requires troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment such as pumps, valves, meters, actuators, and strainers, while supporting emergency response simulations and quality assurance initiatives.
The Terminal Maintenance Operator plays a key role in maintaining terminal integrity, product quality, and operational safety while helping execute plant upgrades and operational changes. The role also includes interacting with contractors, drivers, and customers to ensure smooth terminal operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and operate terminal equipment (pumps, valves, meters, actuators, strainers).
Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance.
Execute assigned operational and maintenance tasks per Imperial standards.
Collaborate with engineering teams for upgrades and process improvements.
Ensure compliance with Safety, Security, Health & Environment (SSHE) policies.
Participate in emergency response simulations.
Support driver observation programs and coordinate contractors.
Interface with customers to manage outages and maintain product availability.
Complete QA and Management of Change documentation for new installations.
Monitor and maintain security of terminal assets.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2+ years of experience in Oil & Gas industrial maintenance.
Mechanical and electrical experience; electrical certification preferred.
Knowledge of electrical systems, Multiload, TMS, and PLCs is desirable.
Trained in product quality testing, gauging, tankage, and pumping systems.
Strong commitment to safety and operational integrity.
Desired Characteristics:
Familiarity with Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS) and Global Product Quality Management System (GPQMS).
Knowledge of plant environmental, health, safety, and quality policies.
Experience coordinating third-party contractors.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Team player with strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Additional Requirements:
Must be eligible to work in Canada full-time with valid proof of eligibility (citizenship, permanent residency, or work permit).
On-site position at Sudbury Terminal.
