Electro Mechanical Technician

 

Description:

Ryder System, Inc., a global leader in transportation, logistics, and supply chain solutions, is seeking a dedicated Electro Mechanical Technician – Night Shift to join its Vaughan, Ontario team. This role is ideal for a motivated and technically skilled individual who is passionate about working with advanced robotic systems in a fast-paced warehouse environment. As part of a collaborative team, the technician will ensure seamless operation and maintenance of Ryder’s innovative Robotic Cartonization System, supporting both production and safety standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct engineering testing, performance analysis, and documentation for electromechanical assemblies related to robotic automation.

  • Provide hands-on technical maintenance and troubleshooting of the Robotic Cartonization System.

  • Coordinate and support external contractors for robotic system and facility maintenance.

  • Perform routine and emergency facility maintenance work as needed.

  • Act as a liaison between engineering and operations teams to provide training and operational support.

  • Diagnose and resolve breakdowns and emergency faults in the robotic systems.

  • Handle the procurement and inventory of spare parts for both the automation system and facility.

  • Maintain a safe work environment and actively participate in Health and Safety initiatives.


Requirements:

  • College degree or technical certification in Electromechanical Engineering or a related field (combinations of education and experience will be considered).

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, particularly within a warehouse or automation-based environment.

  • Proven expertise in maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of electromechanical systems.

  • Prior experience in quality control, product testing, and technical training.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Effective communication skills in English (French bilingualism is a plus, especially in Quebec).

  • Excellent organizational and time-management capabilities.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work independently and in teams.

  • Must be open to working flexible hours and travel occasionally.

  • Safety-sensitive, non-regulated position.


Work Schedule & Compensation:

  • Shift: Sunday to Thursday, 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM

  • Wage: CAD 27/hr + shift premium

  • Type: Full-time, Permanent

  • Additional Compensation: Potential annual bonus or long-term incentive plans
