Electrical Engineer

Potenco is hiring fresh graduate Electrical Engineers for a hybrid full-time role based primarily in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). The company is a global market leader headquartered in Mississauga, ON, specializing in electrical safety products such as ground fault relays, isolation monitors, and resistance grounding systems. Founded in 1946, Potenco collaborates with international standards associations including NFPA, IEEE, IEC, NEC, CEC, GOST, and CCC to promote electrical safety worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with sales teams to design tailored technical solutions for clients.

• Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to potential customers.

• Assist in preparing detailed and accurate sales proposals.

• Provide ongoing post-sales support and develop strong client relationships.

• Stay informed on industry trends, technological innovations, and safety standards.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or relevant college diploma.

• Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and networks.

  • Hands-on familiarity with troubleshooting and testing electrical equipment.

  • Knowledge of electrical safety regulations and standards.

• Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in teams.

  • High eagerness to learn, adapt, and grow professionally.

Preferred (Not Required):

• Eligibility for Engineer-in-Training (EIT) registration with EGBC.

• Academic knowledge of ground fault relays, isolation monitors, or similar products.

• Experience or academic exposure to HV/MV/LV systems, power distribution, or electrical testing.

• Familiarity with software tools such as ETAP, PSSE, SKM Power Tools, MATLAB, and Python.

• Knowledge of NFPA, IEEE, IEC, NEC, and CEC electrical standards.

Logistics / Requirements:

• Canadian citizenship or possession of an EU/US passport is required due to potential international training.

• Valid driver’s license.

• Must be eligible to work in Canada without restrictions (no work permits).

• Willingness and ability to relocate to the Greater Toronto Area if currently outside Ontario.

Work Setup:

• Initial training and onboarding will take place onsite in Mississauga, ON, with potential international training in the EU or US.

• After approximately 6 months, the role transitions to mostly hybrid work involving remote and onsite tasks.
