Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l'Ontario (CSPNE) is seeking an Intervenant(e) en adaptation scolaire to support students with special needs and individualized learning requirements. The role involves working directly with students based on their Individualized Education Program (PEI), addressing their social, behavioral, and personal care needs, and ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to students with individualized learning plans (PEI) and assist with personal care needs of students with complex requirements.

  • Apply principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and generalization of skills to help students develop social, academic, and life skills.

  • Implement individual and group intervention plans focusing on social skill development.

  • Collaborate with teachers, school teams, and health and safety personnel to ensure student well-being.

  • Maintain accurate communication and relationships with students, parents, and other professionals.

  • Be able to assist with lifting and handling students or specialized equipment when necessary.

  • Support students during outdoor school activities and transportation if required.

  • Ensure compliance with the School Board’s health, safety, and behavior management systems.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Postsecondary diploma in a relevant field (Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Rehabilitation, or Social Services).

  • Professional experience and knowledge in child development.

  • Completed training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

  • Strong behavior management and intervention skills.

  • Advanced oral and written proficiency in French (mandatory).

  • Strong teamwork, communication, and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to use technological tools effectively.

  • Flexibility to travel within the school board’s territory if required.

  • Behavior management according to CSPNE’s Behavior Management System.

  • Implementation of individualized and group intervention strategies.

  • Physical ability to assist students with personal care and mobility needs.
