Description:

FUNCTION & DUTIES: Prepare and present a regional intervention program;

  • Prepare and present an inventory of activities related to the prevention of bullying;
  • Create intervention plans to support the needs of students involved in incidents, like bullying;
  • Prepare and present activities to support the development of social skills and emotional awareness

that are relevant to the northern environment;

  • Create material that is engaging for students at a variety of grade levels;
  • Visit schools are the Nunavik region to test activities and better understand the global needs of the

students and staff related to bullying and social emotional learning (SEL);

  • Work in collaboration with other departmental support personnel to ensure the tools and materials

are used to respond to the behavioral needs or training programs;

  • Work with the Healthy School Counsellor to help schools link existing projects to themes of Anti-

bullying and SEL whenever possible.

  • Any other related tasks as determined by his/her supervisor.


QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Education or similar field.

The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualifications if it finds a
suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and
who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.

REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience;

  • Experience in working with students with challenging behaviors;
  • Knowledge of trauma informed practices and approaches to conflict resolution;
  • Fluency in two (2) of the following languages: Inuktitut, French, English;
  • Must be able to travel frequently throughout Nunavik;
  • Strong work ethic and effective problem solving skills.


CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:
In accordance with the SPPENOM collective agreement for professionals. This position belongs to job
category 2104: from $46,114 to $82,585 annually depending on qualification and experience.
