Acton Academy Mississauga invites passionate, creative, and learner-centered educators to join its growing team as Studio Guides for the Sparks (ages 4–6), Discovery (ages 6–11), and Explorer (ages 12–14) studios. As a Studio Guide, you will mentor, inspire, and guide learners on their journey toward self-discovery, personal accountability, and mastery — not through traditional teaching but through inquiry, coaching, and storytelling.
Guides at Acton are not conventional teachers but facilitators of learning, encouraging independence, collaboration, and deep curiosity. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about disrupting traditional education models and creating spaces where children lead their learning journey.
Facilitate learner-driven education through Socratic discussions, hands-on projects, and real-world experiences.
Encourage curiosity, independence, and critical thinking in every learner.
Design and implement learning arcs, daily and weekly studio plans, and creative educational experiences aligned with Acton’s learner-driven philosophy.
Support learners in achieving personal and studio goals through gentle guidance and meaningful accountability.
Plan and lead outdoor activities, local field trips, and community engagement initiatives.
Assist with school administration and contribute to the growth and culture of a developing, entrepreneurial learning environment.
Maintain a safe, supportive, and inspiring studio environment.
Commit to Acton’s Guide and Studio contract and uphold the academy’s vision and values.
Participate in professional growth and collaboration with the global Acton Academy network.
Sparks Studio Guide (Ages 4–6):
Work closely with early learners to build foundational social, cognitive, and creative skills.
Hold Early Childhood Education (ECE) credentials and prior hands-on experience working with young children.
Bring familiarity with alternative educational methods such as Montessori, Reggio Emilia, or Waldorf.
Support the development of self-regulation, curiosity, and independence in young learners.
Current First Aid certification and Vulnerable Sector Check required.
Discovery Studio Guide (Ages 6–11):
Guide mixed-age elementary learners through interdisciplinary projects and quests.
Design activities that blend creativity, collaboration, and real-world problem solving.
Foster resilience, critical thinking, and self-directed learning.
Experience in small teams, start-up environments, or innovative education models preferred.
Current First Aid certification and Vulnerable Sector Check required.
Explorer Studio Guide (Ages 12–14):
Work with young adolescents to foster independence, leadership, and accountability.
Support learners in developing apprenticeship projects and community-based initiatives.
Lead meaningful discussions, mentor projects, and facilitate career exploration.
Strong ability to connect with teenagers and inspire them to pursue their personal missions.
Current First Aid certification and Vulnerable Sector Check required.
Deep belief in the potential, capability, and creativity of every child.
Strong curiosity and a passion for reimagining education.
Ability to balance warmth with high expectations and accountability.
Experience facilitating groups, storytelling, or coaching youth.
Excellent communication, observation, and leadership skills.
Experience in entrepreneurial or start-up educational settings preferred.
Calm, adaptable, and reflective personality with a love for learning and mentorship.
