Description:

Republic Services is seeking skilled and safety-conscious Drivers (DZ / CDL B) to operate collection trucks and provide prompt, courteous, and efficient waste removal services across North York, ON. This role ensures that all vehicles and operations comply with company, state, and federal safety standards while delivering high-quality service to customers.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspections of the vehicle, reporting any defects.

• Safely operate heavy trucks along designated routes and disposal sites.

• Use manual and/or automatic controls to lift and load refuse, operate the compactor, and dispose of collected material.

• Interact courteously with customers and colleagues, ensuring timely service.

• Identify and tag unsatisfactory waste containers.

• May handle hazardous and non-hazardous materials as needed.

• Maintain vehicle condition, cleanliness, and operational readiness.

• Adhere to productivity standards to ensure efficient service delivery.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Class A & B Commercial Driver’s License with air brakes endorsement.

• DZ License or higher.

• Current 40-hour HAZWOPER Training or ability to complete upon hire.

• 2–4 years of driving experience or equivalent training.

• Strong interpersonal, customer service, and navigation skills.

• Ability to drive safely, maintain logs, follow instructions, and work with minimal supervision.
