Description:
Fidelity Canada is seeking a highly organized and technically proficient Disaster Recovery Analyst to join its dynamic IT team in Toronto, ON. This full-time hybrid position plays a crucial role in ensuring the business continuity and operational resiliency of Fidelity’s mission-critical systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in disaster recovery planning and execution, risk mitigation, and production change management. The role also supports the change management process utilizing ServiceNow, and works closely with senior stakeholders, technical teams, and external vendors.
As a Disaster Recovery Analyst, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing disaster recovery tests and ensuring that systems and applications can be restored reliably during an incident. This position requires a collaborative mindset, technical aptitude, and a deep understanding of disaster recovery strategies, technologies, and best practices within financial services.
Disaster Recovery (DR) Planning & Testing:
Coordinate and conduct DR tests for all mission-critical systems in Fidelity Canada.
Ensure recoverability of all critical systems in the DR environment.
Integrate new applications into the recovery program by working with business and Information Systems (IS) teams.
Plan and coordinate recovery efforts during BCP/DR testing with internal teams and external vendors.
Ensure application recovery plans are documented, tested, and kept up to date.
Track and document all DR issues and follow through on remediation.
Generate DR test reports for technical teams and senior leadership.
Conduct postmortem reviews and implement process improvements based on findings.
Participate in BCP scenario planning and tabletop exercises to simulate real-world disasters.
Change Management:
Administer and validate change tickets in ServiceNow in alignment with Fidelity’s Change Management (CM) policies.
Lead weekly Change Approval Board (CAB) meetings to assess and approve scheduled changes.
Serve as a subject matter expert on change management procedures and policies for IS staff.
Collaborate with asset owners and Information Security to ensure accurate reporting and data quality.
Use Power BI dashboards to support reporting on security and resiliency metrics.
Support internal and external audits regarding change management controls and evidence.
University degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical experience.
3–5 years of hands-on experience in Disaster Recovery and/or BCP, preferably within the financial sector.
Strong technical background with understanding of Windows, UNIX, Networking, and Cloud Integration.
Knowledge of information risk management, operational controls, and recovery principles.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
In-depth experience with ServiceNow and Power BI for workflow and reporting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interface with technical teams and senior executives.
Highly organized with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional) certification is considered an asset.
