We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our clinical team and oversee the daily operations of our 10 bed residential facility.

What You’ll Do
Clinical Leadership & Staff Management
- Lead and support a dedicated interdisciplinary team including RNs, LPNs, and PSWs
- Foster a collaborative care environment focused on excellence, continuous improvement, and staff well-being
- Work closely with the Medical Director, psychosocial team, and external partners including Extramural and palliative care teams
- Manage staff scheduling and ensure safe, adequate staffing levels
- Ensure compliance with provincial hospice care standards and best practices
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Resource Nurse
- Maintain and update clinical policies and procedures as needed
Admissions Oversight
- Oversee and coordinate all aspects of the admissions process
- Ensure timely assessments and a seamless onboarding experience for patients and families
- Collaborate with hospitals and community partners to ensure appropriate, timely admissions
Partner Engagement & Community Outreach
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Horizon Health, Extramural, the Department of Health, and other healthcare partners
- Represent Hospice Fredericton at care planning meetings, community events, and system-level collaborations
- Act as the primary clinical liaison to external stakeholders and referral sources
Strategic & Administrative Duties
- Track and report admissions and clinical data to the CEO and Department of Health
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and strategic planning
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Maintain compliance with privacy laws (PHIPA/PIPA), infection control, and safety protocols
- Participate in health and safety initiatives in alignment with organizational policies
What You Bring
- Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with NANB
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent education
- Minimum of 5 years in a clinical leadership or supervisory role, plus 5 years of hands-on clinical experience—preferably in hospice, palliative, or community care
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills with a compassionate and patient-centered approach
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- In-depth knowledge of palliative care models and Canadian healthcare regulations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and clinical records management systems
- Fluent in English, spoken French an asset
