DIRECTOR OF FINANCE & COMPLIANCE

Location: Etobicoke, Ontario

Based in Etobicoke, Ontario, we are seeking a Director of Finance to join our team and collaborate with our team in our office.

The Role

As Director of Finance, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, making sure our financial engine runs smoothly and strategically. From managing day-to-day accounting to driving accurate reporting and ensuring regulatory compliance, you’ll be shaping the financial health of a growing firm with an outstanding reputation in the industry. You’ll work closely with a collaborative team, external partners, and regulators — all while building your career in a dynamic environment where your contributions have a direct impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Reconcile and document trust accounts and mortgage investment flows.
  • Manage payables and track revenue from mortgage investments.
  • Liaise with external auditors and service providers to ensure smooth year-end audits.
  • Strengthen and implement internal controls to keep us ahead of the curve.
  • Maintain compliance with OSC and FSRA regulations, including filings and submissions.
  • Keep financial data organized, accurate, and up to date.
  • Support audit preparation and respond to requests.
  • Jump in on other projects where your skills can make an impact.

What You Bring

  • A degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • 2+ years in financial reporting or accounting roles.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance.
  • Solid accounting knowledge and strong Excel skills.
  • Ability to learn new systems (knowledge of The Mortgage Office is a plus).
  • Detail-oriented mindset with top-notch organizational skills.
  • A collaborative, positive attitude and strong communication skills.
  • Integrity, discretion, and the ability to juggle multiple projects.
  • Experience in real estate or mortgage finance is an asset.
