Description:

Directive Consulting, a leading B2B performance marketing agency, is hiring a Head of Demand Generation – Startups to lead its Demand Generation department and drive measurable results for its Startups Division. This role is remote-based in Canada and involves strategic and operational leadership over a high-velocity portfolio of startup and SMB clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and inspire a team of ~20 digital marketers across Paid Media, SEO, and CRO to ensure high-quality strategy and execution.

  • Develop Associate Directors into strong client leaders capable of managing teams and growing accounts.

  • Own KPIs across client retention, NRR, campaign performance, and team engagement.

  • Act as executive sponsor for top-tier accounts, managing ABRs, renewals, escalations, and client alignment.

  • Shape strategic direction of the Startups Division, including forecasting, hiring, budgeting, and margin management.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales and other service lines to drive new business, upsells, cross-sells, and client success.

  • Plan departmental growth, budgeting, and capacity management to maintain a healthy, high-performing team.

Qualifications:

  • 7–10+ years leading client-facing performance marketing teams in an agency setting, with deep expertise in B2B and SaaS marketing.

  • Proven experience managing fast-paced, high-volume accounts (30+ clients) with multi-service strategy delivery.

  • Skilled in coaching managers and senior ICs, setting clear expectations, and providing feedback for growth.

  • Strong proficiency in auditing Paid Media platforms (Google Ads, LinkedIn, G2/Capterra), with working knowledge of SEO and CRO.

  • Executive presence and composure in high-pressure situations and C-level meetings.

  • Comfortable tracking KPIs, reporting, and making decisions that drive results.

  • Excellent communication skills to bring clarity to ambiguity and inspire teams.

  • Bonus: Experience in B2B/SaaS thought leadership, RevOps concepts, lifecycle metrics (LTV:CAC), or client onboarding frameworks.
