Description:

Mercer, a business of Marsh McLennan and a member of the myGwork LGBTQ+ Business Community, is seeking a Director - Senior Health & Benefits Consultant to join its Mercer Marsh Benefits (MMB) team in Calgary. This hybrid role requires a minimum of three days per week in the office. The successful candidate will lead complex consulting engagements with employers regarding their health, welfare, and wellness programs, including negotiating with benefits carriers and vendors to secure optimal coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead complex client engagements, overseeing service delivery, strategy, financial evaluations, plan design, renewals, business placement, benchmarking, and other studies

• Develop sophisticated benefits design and renewal strategies, driving tools and solutions for complex client challenges

• Set roles and responsibilities within client teams and manage project scope, budget, timeliness, and client satisfaction

• Generate sales by expanding revenues from existing clients and leading prospecting efforts with new clients

• Lead and mentor team members, providing developmental opportunities, coaching, and guidance

• Communicate Mercer’s position on industry trends and provide strategic advice to clients

• Set strategic direction and create demand for new products/services in the marketplace

Qualifications & Skills:

• BA/BS degree required

• Minimum 15 years’ experience in health & benefits consulting

• Proven expertise and industry reputation in health & benefits

• Strong sales, marketing, analytical, and strategic planning skills

• Ability to lead teams, mentor staff, and manage client relationships effectively
