Description:

GSK is seeking a SERM Director, Safety Scientist to lead medical and scientific staff within the Safety Evaluation & Risk Management (SERM) organization. This senior role involves defining and driving clinical safety and pharmacovigilance strategies to align with GSK’s global safety business goals. The director will ensure sound data interpretation, manage safety issues, mentor teams, and influence safety governance both internally and externally.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading policy implementation and strategic planning for safety and risk management.

• Conducting scientific reviews, benefit-risk assessments, causality evaluations, and safety signal evaluations.

• Driving proactive risk management strategies including labelling updates, education initiatives, and safety monitoring.

• Mentoring SERM colleagues in safety methodology and regulatory reporting.

• Overseeing safety governance and contributing to senior safety advisory panels.

• Leading cross-functional matrix teams to address product safety issues and due diligence activities.

• Representing GSK in international pharmacovigilance initiatives and external regulatory environments.

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

• Health Sciences or Healthcare Professional degree (BSc, MS, PhD, RN/BSN/MSN, NP, RPh/B Pharm/Pharm D, Dentist, or Veterinarian).

• Comprehensive experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry within Drug Safety/Pharmacovigilance.

• Extensive expertise in Safety Evaluation & Risk Management across clinical development and post-marketing.

• Knowledge of international pharmacovigilance regulations (ICH, GVP, CIOMS) and drug approval processes.

Preferred Requirements:

• Advanced degree (PhD, MD, etc.).

• Experience in large matrix organizations.

• Oncology experience is a plus.
