Queen’s University, situated on the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabek, invites applications for the position of Director, Four Directions Indigenous Student Centre (FDISC). This is a leadership role within the Division of Student Affairs that plays a critical part in shaping and enhancing the Indigenous student experience at Queen’s University.

The Four Directions Indigenous Student Centre (FDISC) supports Indigenous students in achieving balance across academic, spiritual, physical, and emotional needs. The Centre provides advising, counselling, Elder guidance, academic support, cultural programming, and events that foster community belonging.
As Director, you will:
Report directly to the Senior Director, Student Inclusion, Equity, and Belonging and serve as a member of the Student Affairs Senior Leadership Group.
Lead and manage FDISC staff while planning, implementing, and evaluating the Centre’s services and programs.
Act as an expert resource to students, faculty, and staff on Indigenous student experiences.
Build and maintain strong collaborations with other campus services and Indigenous support systems.
Contribute to reconciliation efforts by promoting deeper understanding of Indigenous knowledge systems, traditions, and contemporary issues.
Indigenous citizenship and strong connection to an Indigenous community, with in-depth knowledge of Indigenous culture(s), practices, and communication styles.
Comprehensive understanding of Indigenous histories, knowledge systems, traditions, and contemporary challenges.
Proven leadership in Indigenous community development or partnership-building.
Significant managerial experience in human resources, program and budget development.
Demonstrated background in student affairs, student development, or education.
Strong communication, diplomacy, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and build trust across diverse groups.
Experience developing and enhancing programs, including preparation of funding proposals.
