Description:
UNICEF Canada is seeking a passionate and visionary leader to join their team as Director, Individual Giving (Acquisition & Product). This is a 13-month full-time contract role with the possibility of extension, ideal for an experienced fundraising professional eager to drive impactful, multi-channel campaigns that support UNICEF’s global mission for children.
Reporting to the Vice President, Individual Giving, this role will lead strategy and operations across donor acquisition, symbolic giving products, subscriptions, and tribute offerings, with three direct reports and oversight of a $10M+ annual expense budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Acquisition, Product & Partnership Management (50%)
Develop and implement strategic fundraising and acquisition plans.
Lead execution of multi-channel campaigns (direct dialogue, digital, tele-fundraising).
Manage symbolic giving products and donor lifecycle strategies.
Supervise vendor and agency relationships, ensuring performance, reporting, and training standards are met.
Drive innovation through testing new programs and using data insights to improve acquisition and retention.
Strategic & Operational Planning (35%)
Lead annual budget and forecasting processes with focus on ROI.
Analyze campaign metrics regularly to optimize donor engagement and revenues.
Manage legal and financial records, vendor contracts, and internal stakeholder reporting.
Stay informed on industry trends, UNICEF Global best practices, and apply them locally.
People Management (15%)
Lead and coach a high-performing team of three direct reports.
Set clear goals, provide feedback, and support professional development.
Contribute to UNICEF Canada’s inclusive, ambitious, and high-impact culture.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
7+ years of relevant experience with strong emphasis on donor acquisition.
Education in Fundraising, Marketing, or equivalent experience.
Strong strategic, analytical, and financial planning capabilities.
Proven success in leading direct response campaigns and digital fundraising initiatives.
Strong project management and communication skills.
Experience in negotiation, vendor management, and sales training.
Proficiency in Excel and relational databases such as Raiser’s Edge (an asset).
Experience with Direct Dialogue campaigns (an asset).
