Canada Pork is the domestic and global market development and promotion organization for the Canadian pork industry. Canada Pork is a joint initiative of the Canadian Pork Council representing Canada’s 7,000 pork producers and the Canadian Meat Council, representing pork processors and trading companies.

Reporting to the Vice-President, Global Marketing of Canada Pork, the position is responsible for the implementation of the Canadian Pork Promotion & Research Agency (CPPRA) strategy to raise pork profile amongst consumers and ultimately increase demand and consumption of pork in Canada.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with the Vice-President, Global Marketing to further develop and refine long-term plans to specifically raise the profile of pork amongst Canadians.
• Build strong working relationships with members and stakeholder partners, including industry advisory committees.
• Develop and implement consumer-facing plans to build demand and increase consumption of pork in Canada based on approved budgets, annual marketing plans, and clearly defined performance measures.
• Leverage consumer research insights to build impactful promotion campaigns and highlight opportunities for growth.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field, or a minimum 5-7 years of experience in food sector management experience.
• Proficient in relevant computer applications such as MS Office Suite.
• Understanding of the Canadian agriculture and meat industry would be an asset.
• Consumer and market research skills would be an asset.
• Ability to execute contracts, manage budgets and evaluate performance.
• Strong writing, editing and project management skills.
• Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
• Fluency in French is highly preferred.
• Willingness to travel.
