Description:

The team is looking for a creative and driven Digital Marketing Specialist to support the work of University Business Services at TMU. This portfolio includes several ancillary services at the university including: the Campus Store, TMU Eats (Food Services), OneCard (the university’s ID card), Urban Farm, Events & Space Reservations Services, Parking, and Duplication & Printing.
In this role, you’ll work closely with the Assistant Vice-President, University Business Services and the department’s leads to provide digital marketing strategy and support. This includes the design, development and execution of a wide range of marketing and communication materials. Working within the TMU brand, you'll help grow our social media, coordinate and reimagine our websites, build brand awareness, coordinate photoshoots, video productions and more to support business initiatives.

Other key initiatives will include:

  • You will be the main point of contact providing strategic communications support to University Business Services, your client. Working with the Director, Administration and Operations Communications and the Assistant Vice-President, University Business Services to map out the annual digital marketing strategies, priorities and content calendars for campaign development, and creative direction for design aesthetics.
  • You’ll build engaging multi-channel marketing/communication plans/campaigns, taking special care to ensure alignment with the university branding standards for a variety of products and services; for example residence meal plans and university-branded apparel.
  • You will create effective strategies to engage students in our programs and initiatives and promote increased sales.
  • You’ll research, recommend, develop and implement appropriate marketing and communication ideas and initiatives through print, digital and social media to reach the target audiences.
  • You’ll lead the planning and execution of social channels, including a new Campus Store instagram.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a post-secondary degree in a relevant field such as program in Business Management, Communication, Marketing, Journalism, English or in a related field.
  • At least three (3) years of relevant work experience in a dedicated marketing/branded communications position, busy advertising or a similar environment is required.
  • Publishing knowledge and skills to create, edit/proof and prepare final print-ready marketing and communication materials.
  • Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of “the brand” and will work to ensure that the creative content of all projects works to reinforce the key components of the TMU brand.
  • Knowledge of print production processes and styles such as the requirements/specifications for print-ready materials.
  • Strong knowledge of digital and print marketing, including analytics.
  • Strong writing and oral communication skills.
  • Project coordination skills.
  • Proven experience in multitasking and prioritizing high volumes of work while meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated command of various applications and tools such as Content Management Systems (WordPress), HTML, desktop publishing software (InDesign), digital and vector graphics editor (Photoshop and Illustrator) would be considered an asset.
