Devops Engineer

PENN Entertainment, Inc. is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join their site reliability team. The company is North America’s leading provider of integrated entertainment, sports content, and casino gaming experiences. This role is integral to supporting PENN Entertainment's digital platforms, which include ESPN BET, Hollywood Casino, theScore Bet Sportsbook & Casino, and theScore media app. The position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology, tackle cyber threats, and contribute to future cloud security initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Internal Support Requests: Respond to internal support requests, making configuration changes for code repositories, troubleshooting, adding users, and assisting with various duties.

• Project Work: Build out infrastructure automation, perform software upgrades, and conduct general infrastructure improvements.

• On-Call Duty: Be on-call once every 4-8 weeks to provide support in various capacities as needed.

• Automation: Automate infrastructure tasks to streamline operations and improve efficiency.

• Other Duties: Handle additional tasks as required by the team.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience: Experience in DevOps, Build & Release Engineering, SRE, or similar roles.

• Day 2 Operations: Strong focus on day 2 operations (maintaining systems after deployment).

• Containerization: Experience with Docker & Kubernetes is preferred.

• Automation Tools: Expertise in configuration management and infrastructure as code tools, including Terraform (preferred), Ansible, Helm, etc.

• Programming Languages: Proficiency in Bash & Python.

• Linux Experience: Extensive experience working in Linux environments.

• Cloud Experience: Familiarity with AWS, GCP, and/or on-premise environments.

• Developer and SysAdmin Skills: A mix of developer and systems administration skills is ideal.

• Independent Work: Ability to work independently and learn new technologies quickly.

• Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks.

• Ad-hoc Tasks: Willingness to take on tasks as they arise.

Nice to Have:

• Additional Technologies: Experience with Postgres, MySQL, Elastic Search, Kafka, Redis, ArgoCD, Terragrunt, Prometheus, or web programming.
