Design And Digital Marketing Assistant

 

Description:

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications, the role of the Design & Digital Marketing Assistant is to support the communications department in driving brand awareness of the various facets of Kerby Centre and affiliates through all marketing platforms and to ensure that the messaging reflects the mission and the vision of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Supporting the Marketing and Communications team with project organization.
2. Provide graphic design support for all company marketing needs.
3. Assist with the Kerby Newspaper layout each month
4. Oversee the placement and creation (when needed) of ads for the Kerby Newspaper
5. Upload and dissemination of online content for the organization’s social media pages and websites.
6. Maintain, update and optimize website content and graphics.
7. Coordinate promotion of events, activities, and fund development initiatives across all digital platforms.
8. Suggest and implement direct marketing methods to increase awareness, program attendance and fundraising.
9. Assist in taking and editing photos and videos for marketing purposes.
10. Assist in the development and production of multi-media content, including visual, video and digital assets.
11. Stay up to date with trends in digital media and social media platforms.
NOTE: All positions at Kerby Centre are evolving. New or changed responsibilities may be considered by the CEO at any time.

Job Requirements:

Education

  • Education in Graphic Design
  • Education in Multi-media a plus

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Excellent design skills in multi-page layout document, campaign creation, ad development, social media post materials, video presentations
  • Strong understanding of print production design
  • Knowledge of website content management systems for WordPress
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and how platforms such as Hootsuite, SocialPilot, or Buffer work
  • Strong skills in working with Adobe Creative Suite products
  • Knowledge of Canva and ability to work with non-designer contributing staff
  • Comfortable working with seniors and being in an event environment
  • Understanding of website design, information architecture and website optimization
  • Must be able to self-manage, think independently and problem solve.
  • Must be able to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Good understanding of office management.
  • Must be able to follow instructions and work independently on projects.
  • A deeper understand of marketing management is a plus
